Take Placement Tests

Some programs require placement tests for English, reading and math. A placement test will determine your academic skill level for appropriate course placement. Students must register into the English, reading and math course that correlates with their placement test score.

Placement tests must be proctored (monitored) in person at a Rio Salado testing center or other approved location.

  • Students are permitted one retest (after a 24-hour waiting period) in each subject area per year.
  • Practice questions can be found on the Rio Salado Testing site.

Please Note
It is recommended that students who are new to college and test into one or more courses below the 100 level (e.g. MAT082) will also take a Counseling and Personal Development (CPD) class. An advisor can assist with selecting the appropriate classes.
