Vice President of Business and Employee Services
Todd Simmons is the vice president of administrative services at Rio Salado College. He started as a director of business and employee services in 1997. As vice president, he directs departments that include auxiliary services, budget, business services and fiscal, Student Business Services, college public safety, employee and organizational learning, facilities planning and construction, faculty services, human resources, maintenance and operations, and wellness. He additionally serves as a member of the President’s Cabinet and the President’s Advisory Council.
He earned a master’s degree in educational leadership from Northern Arizona University and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Brigham Young University. He also is a certified public accountant in Arizona.
Prior to Rio Salado, he served as vice president of college services at Clatsop Community College in Oregon. In addition, he was the vice president of administration for Eastern Arizona College for 16 years.
Simmons has been recognized for his work and innovation at the community colleges. In 1994, he was voted as an outstanding business officer by the National Council of Community College Business Officials (NCCCBO). Under his leadership, the Rio Salado College Textbook Savings Program was named the recipient of the Maricopa Community Colleges Innovation of the Year Award for 2007-08. Additionally, he has led college efforts to identify sites, renovate or build Rio Salado’s various locations throughout Maricopa County.
