Pay-30-Forward

Rio Salado College believes investing in volunteerism is good business. It's no secret that Rio Salado employees care a lot about giving back. Each day, we help thousands of students achieve their educational goals by delivering on our mission to transform the learning experience. This interest in serving isn't confined to the work day. We also give freely of our time and skills outside of the workplace.

In addition to making a positive impact on our community, we gain first-hand knowledge of the sector we serve. On July 1, 2009, Rio launched Pay-30-Forward, which honors the way our employees embody our core practices of: Learning, Innovating, and Partnering. Pay-30-Forward was formed to promote social sustainability development at Rio Salado College. The program is a simple way for Rio to ensure that our efforts are reaching the wide range of communities where our employees live and work.

To further reach out to the community, Rio Salado partnered with 98.7 FM The Peak to create
 Project Give to promote volunteerism.

Program Details:

The program's goals-Learn, Innovate, and Partner-not only observe Rio’s core practices, but also reflect the tremendous excitement in our nation today as people are unifying in a powerful movement to bring about social change. These three principles will set the achievement outline of the Pay-It-30-Forward program.

1. Learn best practices, trends, strategies, and new ways of doing business from the best thinkers and practitioners of diversity, service, and volunteering through attendance and participation in brown bags, workshops, and social sustainability events in the community.

2. Innovate; be inspired in a place known for exciting innovation. Recharge, engage, and build upon new ideas and civic energy to strengthen the reach and impact of our organization in the continued development of social sustainability.

3. Partner, connect, and network with peers, and leaders in your community. Participate in service learning projects and get plugged in to your community.

Pay 30 Forward will recognize individuals that have achieved a certain standard measured by applying both the Learn and Partner core practices highlighted above, through the awarding of our current sustainability icon.
