As part of the college’s evolving strategic plan, we’re determining our responsibilities related to sustainability in terms of economics, social and cultural systems, and the environment. To assist in these efforts, Rio has invited experts from the Global Institute of Sustainability and Wal-Mart.
In addition to “greening” our own college, Rio Salado’s President, Dr. Chris Bustamante, is a Charter Signatory for the American College & University Presidents Climate Commitment and a member of its Leadership Circle.
- The college will measure Rio Salado's carbon footprint and continue to make improvements
- Standards established by the American College and University President's Climate Commitment will be used
- The college will gauge energy usage and the environmental impact of current Rio Salado programs
