Civic Engagement

Democracy Commitment
Rio Salado College is proud to participate in The Democracy Commitment, a national community college initiative to develop and expand programs, projects and curricula that engage students in civic learning and democratic practice.

Civic Leadership Medallion
All part-time and full-time students are eligible to earn the Chancellor’s Civic Leadership Medallion. To earn the medallion, a student must earn 100 points for qualifying civic leadership activities.

Student Public Policy Forum and the Arizona Town Hall
The Student Public Policy Forum (SPPF) is an academic program that provides an overview of local, state and national public policy making, and citizen influence and involvement. Twice each year the Arizona Town Hall brings together a wide cross section of approximately 150 prominent Arizona citizens to consider and discuss a topic of major concern to Arizona’s future.

Constitution Day
Each year Rio Salado College recognizes and celebrates this day with activities and events promoting a better understanding of the Constitution.

Voting Information and Registration
Rio Salado College wants all students to be informed about voting and elections. If you are eligible to vote but are not already registered, the deadline to register in order to be eligible to vote in an election is 29 days before the date of the election.
