Interested in Purchasing Fresh Local Produce?
Rio Salado College now serves as a drop-off location for Love Grows Farms’ Community Sponsored Agriculture program!
What is CSA?
Community Sponsored Agriculture (CSA) is a socio-economic model of agriculture and food distribution where a community of individuals pledges support to a farming operation where the growers and consumers share the risks and benefits of food production.
How does it work?
Members, or "shareholders," purchase 10-week shares in advance to cover the anticipated costs of the farms operations. In return, members receive a weekly allotment (7-10 items) of the farm’s bounty throughout the 10-week growing season.
What produce will I get?
This varies depending on the season. A one-week share might include beets, lettuce, broccoli, beans, spinach, radishes, carrots, peas, sprouts, kale, tomatoes, etc!
How much does it cost?
A 10-week share is $250. You can also partner with friends to split the cost of a share.
Why participate in a CSA?
In addition to the satisfaction gained from reconnecting with the land and participating directly in local food production, participants enjoy freshly-picked organic or pesticide-free produce and save money on fewer trips to the grocery store!
By direct sales to community members, who have provided the farmer with working capital in advance, growers receive better prices for their crops and gain some financial security.
