Term Block Calendar

Rio Salado College's academic calendar is divided into 16 blocks each term. Each block is 16 weeks long. When registering for classes at Rio Salado, you select a start date for your classes. Your start date will determine your block for that term. You will take all of your classes within your block's start and end date.

For example, in Fall term 2010, Block 1 begins Aug. 23 and ends on Dec. 13. All of your fall classes must be completed within that timeframe.

Taking your classes block by block provides you with a roadmap to follow toward the completion of your educational goals.

You'll stay on course knowing your next steps, and all your class options.

An Overview

  • Three terms: fall, spring, summer
  • Each term has 16 blocks
  • Each block is 16 weeks long
  • All classes must be completed within your block
  • You can choose from 48 start dates each year

Where do I go from here?

Notice:

The Block Calendar goes into effect Oct. 25, 2010. However, your current enrollment may affect your start date for Spring classes. Additional information is being sent to students via email and mail to explain the Block Calendar. Questions?
