Faculty Services

We staff over 1,100 adjunct instructors each semester, and we’re currently looking for instructors to teach in-person, online, and print-based classes. Our classes start every Monday, so we’re constantly seeking competent, caring, qualified professionals who not only possess outstanding credentials and experience in their fields, but also have the desire to share their expertise with our students.

To be considered, an applicant must possess the following qualifications:

Minimum Requirements for Academic Areas

A master's degree from an accredited college or university in the field to be taught, or

A master's from an accredited college or university in any teaching field with 24 upper division and/or 18 graduate semester hours in the field to be taught,

Completion of EDU250, "Teaching and Learning in the Community College", or equivalent within two years from the date of hire.

If you would like to apply online, you can access our application below. Once you submit your application, it is processed into our adjunct faculty applicant pool according to the disciplines in which you are eligible to teach. Someone from the Faculty Services office will contact you if additional information is needed for your file. If a need arises for additional instructors in your area of eligibility, you will be contacted for an interview. We hire adjunct faculty throughout the year on an as-needed basis, depending on student enrollment. Your application will be kept on file for up to three years, at which time we will request an update of your interest and information.

The current pay schedule for adjunct faculty in the Maricopa Community College District is $766 per credit hour. An adjunct instructor can carry a maximum of nine credit hours per semester.
