The program is located at the Centro Internacional de Idiomas, Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara (UAG). Guadalajara, the capital of the state of Jalisco, is Mexico's second largest city, with a population of 5 million people. Founded in 1542, Guadalajara has a colorful history and can count el jarabe tapatío (the Mexican hat dance), sombreros, mariachis, and tequila among its more famous creations. The city has numerous museums and cathedrals of interest, and is modern with low pollution levels.Academic Program Highlights
UAG provides students with the opportunity to increase their Spanish language skills in a culturally rich environment through university level Spanish courses. The June/July session offers students the option of enrolling in the "Spanish Language and Culture" programs, allowing students to combine Spanish language and one class on culture, usually taught in English.Program Duration

Transcripts
For all courses taken at the Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara where there are equivalent courses in the MCCCD, the official record for those credits will be posted on the MCCCD, Rio Salado College, transcript.Eligibility:
2.5 GPA; 1 quarter of language training requiring transcripts; 2 letters of recommendation; statement of purpose.Student Life
Students are encouraged to take advantage of the Spanish speaking environment through extracurricular activities and personal contact with Mexican people. Students live with Mexican families during the program, and participate in an excursion to a location of historical or cultural significance during each 4-week course.Costs
The cost of a summer program may vary as changes occur in the economies and currencies of the U.S. and abroad. The factors listed below are used to calculate program costs.

- Program costs abroad, including instruction, housing, application and orientation fees, insurance, books and field trips.

Tuition at Rio Salado College based on Student's residency, airfare, personal costs, room and half board, additional excursions, CWU application fee ($50) and registration fee ($35).Financial Aid
Any financial aid for which students are eligible during the course of their study at Rio Salado College, including Pell Grants, can be used toward the cost of the program in Mexico.For More Information
