Program Site
Kingston University is housed on four separate campuses close to the center of the Royal Borough of Kingston in Greater London. All campuses are within easy reach of one another and are connected by a free bus service. The main campus on Penrhyn Road is a 20 minute train ride from the center of London. The town is a mixture of old and new with a daily open air market as well as chain stores, supermarkets, a shopping mall, night clubs, discos, and multi-screen cinemas. The proximity of London, with its cultural diversity and variety of services, is coupled with easy access to Richmond Park, Kew Gardens, Wimbledon, and Windsor.

Academic Program Highlights
All students take the course "British Culture and Society", Designed to provide an understanding and appreciation of contemporary culture and society, the course combines lectures and seminars with excursions and tours led by Kingston faculty. In addition to the required course, students pick electives from five of the Faculties at the University. The Faculties available to students on the program are: Human Sciences (humanities and social sciences), Science, Technology (engineering and computer sciences), Design, and Business.

2.5 GPA, transcripts, 2 letters of recommendation.

Student Life
The international office at Kingston University arranges housing accommodations for summer students in the Kingston dorms. Accommodation is single occupancy bedrooms with a shared kitchen. While at KU, students are automatically granted membership in the Student Union, which plays an important role in promoting and developing students' interests. The Commercial Services of the Student Union include four bars, a wide range of entertainment, two stationary shops, and a travel agency. Sports clubs compete in intramural and intercollegiate matches in rugby, soccer, cricket, rowing, and swimming. A fully equipped fitness center at Penrhyn Road has cardiovascular equipment, weight training machines, and aerobic studios.

Costs
The cost of a summer program may vary as changes occur in the economies and currencies of the U.S. and abroad. The factors listed below are used to calculate program costs.

  • Tuition at Rio Salado College (assessed according to the student’s residency status).
  • Program costs abroad, including instruction, housing, application and orientation fees, insurance, books and field trips.
  • Transportation to the designated country.‚

Costs Included:
Tuition, course-related field trips, London travel card for one month, a student ID, and medical insurance.

Not Included:
Costs do not include: airfare, meals, and personal costs. Tuition at Rio Salado College (assessed according to the student's residency status and number of credit hours).

Financial Aid
Any financial aid for which students are eligible during the course of their study at Rio Salado College, including Pell Grants, can be used toward the cost of the program in England.
