Program Site
/images_newis located in the borough of Ealing, on the west side of London, an area filled with attractions like Kew Gardens and Windsor Castle. Ealing, about 10 miles from central London, offers convenient transportation to all sections of the city by bus and Underground. Within half an hour, you can be in Oxford Circus, in the center of London's shopping district, or Covent Garden, in the heart of London's theatre district. Thames Valley University, with approximately 5,000 full-time and 4,000 part-time students enrolled at the Ealing campus, has one of the most internationally diverse student populations in Britain. Its special strengths are Business/Management, Communication and Media Studies, Music, Leisure, Tourism, Hotel Management and Catering.

Academic Program Highlights
The academic program offers two options. Students may study in courses designed especially for the American program that takes advantage of the London location, and/or take classes with British students in regular University courses. These include: Business Administration, Communication, Information Technology, Music, Psychology, Marketing, Journalism, Leisure Management, Media Arts, and Human Resources. Courses specifically for American students include: British Culture and Society, Theatre in London, Art in London and British popular music.

2.5 GPA, 2 letters of recommendation.

Student Life
All students live in private homes within a 45-minute walk or short bus ride from the campus. The program cost includes a stipend for housing and meals (breakfast and dinner on class days). There is also a self-catering option, where students have access to kitchen facilities so that they can prepare their own meals.

Students may take part in all the social and sporting activities offered by the University and the Student's Union. The new Union Building has lounges, study rooms, two bars, an entertainment hall, a gym, gift shops, and a restaurant. In addition, the University provides full access to academic and student services. A wide range of optional excursions and weekend trips are arranged to popular sites in England and continental Europe.

Costs
The cost of a semester may vary as changes occur in the economies and currencies of the U.S. and England. The factors listed below are used to calculate program costs.

  • Tuition at Rio Salado College (assessed according to the student's residency status).
  • Program costs in England, including instruction, housing, application and orientation fees, insurance, books and field trips.
  • Transportation to England.
Financial Aid
Any financial aid for which students are eligible during the course of their study at Rio Salado College, including Pell Grants, can be used toward the cost of the program in England.
