Program Site
Greenock, close to the breathtaking Lowlands, Highlands and Islands of Scotland, is only thirty miles from Glasgow and fifty-five miles from Edinburgh. Accessible by train from Greenock, Glasgow and Edinburgh are rich in historical, cultural and social offerings. Scotland's ancient ruins, antiquities, and medieval castles, as well as it close proximity to Ireland, Wales and England make it a wonderful study abroad destination.

Greenock, a former shipbuilding town on the River Clyde, is the fastest growing center of education and training in Scotland today. It has a newly developed waterfront site offering shopping, a cinema, a sports complex and other amenities. James Watt College is one of Scotland's oldest colleges, opened in 1908 by the industrialist Andrew Carnegie. James Watt College is recognized for its commitment to meeting the needs of employers both nationally and internationally by providing students from around the world with the mix of educational skills and training required for today's industry and commerce. James Watt College offers state-of-the-art academic and living facilities, well-equipped computer laboratories, and video, music recording and photographic equipment.

2.5/4.0 GPA; CCIS application; minimum 18 years of age; transcripts; 2 letters of recommendation; statement of purpse

Costs
The cost of a summer program may vary as changes occur in the economies and currencies of the U.S. and abroad. The factors listed below are used to calculate program costs.

  • Tuition at Rio Salado College (assessed according to the student’s residency status).
  • Program costs abroad, including instruction, housing, application and orientation fees, insurance, books and field trips.
  • Transportation to the designated country.‚

Cost Includes: Tuition, fees, room, books, orientation, trips in Scottland, insurance, and airport pick up..

Estimated Additional Costs: Airfare ($500-800), books ($100), meals and personal expenses ($600-$1,200), ($200 administrative costs), Tuition at Rio Salado College (assessed according to the students residency status and number of credit hours.)

Financial Aid
Any financial aid for which students are eligible during the course of their study at Rio Salado College, including Pell Grants, can be used toward the cost of the program in Scotland.
