The Catering program is based on a comprehensive curriculum that teaches the fundamentals of the food service industry and provides the students real-world skills necessary to obtain employment in the catering field along with other related areas.

In addition to the coursework, students prepare a variety of food items for service at many functions. Our clients have included the Governor's office, several of the ADC prison facilities as well as Rio Salado College. It is important to note that at several of these events, the students were taken off-site to serve food they had prepared. This is another way in which the Arizona Department of Corrections and Rio Salado College are working together to ensure our students have the skills necessary to obtain employment and return to their communities as productive members. Watch for a new business venture with Arizona Correctional Industries (ACI) in the future - a tortilla factory.
