Teacher In-Residence


Admissions:

  • Baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited institution. Two Official Transcripts will be required for Formal Admissions.
  • Passing results from the AEPA (Arizona Educator Proficiency Assessment) in the content area for which you are being hired.
  • Hiring commitment for two years from a school district. Must provide letter of intent.
  • Arizona Department of Education application for "Intern Certificate" cost $60.00
  • Completion of two letters of character reference.
  • Fingerprint clearance.
  • Acceptable TOEFL score, if English is not your native language or if determined by Department Chair to be necessary.

Admissions:

  • Must complete 50% of your required program plan course work by the end of the first year and be successful in two semesters of supervised student teaching in order to maintain employment and continuation in our program for the 2nd year.
  • Must continue employment in the same position for the 2nd year.
  • All Rio EDU courses must be met with a "B" or better with an overall GPA of 3.0.
