"Bridge" Program

You’ll be glad to know that Rio Salado College (RSC) has established an educational partnership with regionally accredited Ashford University to provide a flexible and non-traditional means for you to earn the credits necessary for Arizona Teacher Certification. You benefit from this collaborative agreement since you can earn a degree at a faster and more affordable rate than through other programs.

The “Bridge” Program meets your needs since you can seek a Bachelor’s degree that is a requirement for certification as a teacher in Elementary, Secondary, or Special Education through Ashford University. Additionally, you will be able to include some of Rio Salado Level I teacher certification courses into your baccalaureate degree plan of study.

Upon receiving your baccalaureate degree and following successful completion of all Level I coursework, you are eligible to submit an application for formal acceptance into one of Rio Salado College’s Arizona Department of Education (ADE) approved Post-Baccalaureate Teacher Preparation Programs. Following program acceptance, you can enroll in Level II education methods courses that are required for Arizona Teacher Certification.

For additional information regarding these partnerships, you can contact Rio Salado College Student Enrollment Services at (480) 517-8540 or email academic.advisement@mail.riosalado.edu.
