Teach for Rio 

We staff over 1,300 adjunct instructors each semester, and we're currently looking for instructors to teach in-person, online, and print-based classes. With 48 start dates a year, we're constantly seeking competent, caring, qualified professionals who not only possess outstanding credentials and experience in their fields, but also have the desire to share their expertise with our students.

Before moving forward with the application process, please note that Rio Salado College is not currently hiring adjunct faculty from the following states: Iowa,Kansas, Kentucky, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, Tennessee, and West Virginia. Please visit the FAQ page for more information.

To be considered, an applicant must possess the following qualifications:

Minimum Requirements for Academic Areas

  • A master's degree from an accredited college or university in the field to be taught, or
  • A master's from an accredited college or university in any teaching field with 24 upper division and/or 18 graduate semester hours in the field to be taught,
  • Completion of EDU250, "Teaching and Learning in the Community College", or equivalent within two years from the date of hire.

Minimum Requirements for Occupational Areas

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with 3 years of directly related work experience in field to be taught, or
  • 5 years of directly related work experience in the field to be taught,
  • Completion of EDU250, "Teaching and Learning in the Community College", or equivalent within two years from the date of hire.
