Notice: Effective Fall 2011, Book Vouchers are being replaced with Book Advances.
Book Advances allow you to use a portion of your anticipated financial aid to purchase textbooks and supplies from any business; however, certain required course materials are customized and only available from specific vendors.
Before purchasing your required course materials, please review your Mini-Syllabus to see specific requirements for textbooks, access codes, laboratory kits and other course resources.
Book vouchers are available online or at the Financial Aid office, and can be submitted two weeks before the start date of your classes. Before submitting your request, please check Rio Salado’s Financial Aid Terms and Conditions to make sure that you are eligible to receive a book voucher.
The standard processing time for Financial Aid to complete your book voucher request is three business days. Please provide accurate information in order for your request to be processed in a timely manner.
Each academic year, students must submit a valid and legible copy of their state issued photo ID. If you are submitting a book voucher for the Fall Term, you must include a copy of a state issued photo ID.
Both the Book Voucher Request and the legible ID are required to process your book voucher.
Online Submissions
There are two ways to submit your (valid and legible) state issued photo ID.
- Scan and email your ID to the Financial Aid office the same day you submit your book voucher.
- Photocopy or scan/fax your ID. IMPORTANT: When using a photocopier, make sure to select the “lighten” feature, and enlarge the ID to 200%. (SEE EXAMPLES BELOW Copies that are not lightened prior to being faxed will appear as an illegible black rectangle, thus delaying processing time).

Once Financial Aid has processed your voucher, the book request is forwarded to the Bookstore to complete your order. Please allow 3 business days for the Bookstore to process your request and additional time for shipping and handling. In-Person Submissions
Students who choose to pick up their book voucher in person will need their state-issued ID to pick up their books. The Bookstore hours are:
Mon-Thurs, 9 a.m. – 7 p.m.
Fri - 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Sat - 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
