FAQs
Where are my classes?
Online classes are delivered via RioLearn at www.riolearn.org. If you are logging in for the first time, be sure to follow the link to create your account. You will have access to your class up to 7 days prior to the start date. You can verify your start date via the Student Center at my.maricopa.edu/.
How do I contact my instructor?
Since our courses are online, the primary form of communication is email. The official email account for your class is your Maricopa Google mail account. Most departments will only accept email communication from the Maricopa account. Use the “Contact Your Instructor” link on your Course Home Page to email your instructor. Be sure to check your Gmail Inbox for a copy of the message and your instructor’s reply. Most of our instructors are online every 24-48 hours. However, we do allow up to 72 hours for instructors to respond to email messages.
How do I change to an 8-week calendar?
Once you have selected the 8-week calendar, this change is permanent. If you need to change your calendar back to the full length option, you must contact your instructor to request this change. Be aware that making this change is up to the instructor’s discretion and department policies.
Some of Rio Salado’s courses do not have the 8-week option. Check your course schedule to see if your class has the accelerated calendar option. Also note that selecting the 8-week calendar shortens the drop and refund period. Contact Student Enrollment Services at 480-517-8540 if you have questions about this change. How do I request an extension?
You can request an online extension for assignments and a course end date via your RioLearn Gradebook. Read instructions for requesting an extension.
