What is my user name and password?

How do I send an email?

  1. Click on the email button on the top right hand corner of any page on RioLearn.
  2. Click the button on the top of the page that says New
  3. In the To: field, type your recipient's email address.
  4. Type your message and subject line.
  5. Click Send at the top of the page.

How do I attach a file?

  1. Click on the email link on the top right hand corner of any page on RioLearn.
  2. Click the word New at the top of the screen to create a new message.
  3. Click Attachments. Click Browse. Locate the document. Click Open. Click Attach.
  4. In the To: field, type your recipient's email address.
  5. Type your message and subject line.
  6. Click Send at the top of the page.

How do I email my instructor?

Click on the course from your 'My Site' page. Once on the course section homepage, click on your instructors name listed in the 'Email Your Instructor' box. This will automatically populate an email address to your instructor.

My instructor isn't getting back to me

If you have not received a reply from your instructor in a few days:

  • Make sure that you are checking your email account through RioLearn and not your personal account
  • Check to see if you received a message from "mailer-daemon" indicating that your message was never sent due to an incorrect email address
  • Call the Helpdesk at 480-517-8600 and we can check into it and put you in touch with the Instructional Helpdesk to contact the instructor on your behalf.

Does this call cost me anything?

This call goes on your existing Internet connection and will not cost you anything on top of your normal Internet connection.

General Questions

How do I download and watch a Real Player video?

You can either click the link and Real Player will automatically play the file, or you can right-click on the link and choose "Save link as" or "Save target as" (depending on your browser). Once it is downloaded, you can play it directly from your computer.

Can I get an extension on my class?

Only your instructor can grant an extension in the class. You may request an extension online through RioLearn:

  • Click on your course from your My Site page.
  • Once on the course section homepage, click on the Request A Change link located in the Assessments Due Dates box.
  • Fill out the form and click Submit. You will receive a response from the instructor as an alert on your My Site page within a few days.

How do I know who my instructor is?

Your instructors name is located on your My Site page next to the course in the My Courses box.

Why can't I open .pdf files?

You need to download the newest Adobe Acrobat Reader. It's free and can be downloaded from www.adobe.com. For help with a download or installation, please call the helpdesk at 480-517-8600.

I can't open the Rio homepage

Check to make sure that you have an Internet connection. Test this with other sites, such as www.yahoo.com or www.microsoft.com. If you are able to access other pages, please call the helpdesk at 480-517-8600.

Downloading files from the Internet

  1. Click on the link of the file that you want to download
  2. A window will appear asking you to either save the file to disk or open it from location
  3. Select Save the file to disk and click OK
  4. A dialog box will now appear
  5. Near the top of the window and right of Save in you will see a drop down box
  6. Click on the arrow and select Desktop from the menu
  7. Click Save
  8. Note: Most of the files you download are the installation files for the program that you want. After completing the Download, double click on the file and follow the installation instructions.

How do I get an access code for MyMathLab?

The access code comes bundled with your textbook when purchased from the Rio Salado Bookstore.

How do I get the Course ID for MyMathLab?

The instructor will post the Course ID in the Announcements of your RioLearn course section homepage.

How can I change my username, password, or email address in MyMathLab?

  • Log in to www.coursecompass.com
  • Click on the My Account button
  • Then click on the Edit Account Information button
  • To change your email address: Highlight the email entry and replace it with your RioLearn email address (yourMEID@maricopa.edu)
  • Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Save
