Rio Salado College’s Adult Basic Education department offers in-person classes to prepare students for the GED (high school equivalency) test. Classes are taught in English, and prepare students for the five subject areas of the GED test:
- Social Studies
- Reading
- Writing
- Science
- Math
Registration Information
There is a registration fee for GED Prep classes based on a sliding scale. Go to the Fee Guidelines.
To register for the class, students must complete a Verification of Eligibility for Services form, as required by the Arizona Department of Education. This form requires proof of legal status, which can be provided from a list of acceptable ID documents.

GED Exam Requirements
The GED test is administered by the Arizona Department of Education. The GED test must be taken at an official testing center. Call 602-258-2410 for information on official testing centers. For a list of GED exam requirements click here.
Completion of an online GED course of study does not guarantee that the student will pass the GED test.
