As Arizona's high-tech economy marches head-first into the 21st century, we face a growing need for a highly skilled workforce. Rio Salado is working hard to address this need with services such as those offered by ABE Transition, which provides pathways to higher education and career training to underserved populations.
Mission Statement
The mission of the ABE Transition Services is to provide comprehensive support to adult GED and ELAA students that enables them to successfully transition into post-secondary educational and career opportunities within and beyond the Maricopa Community College District. We empower students to reach their educational goals through:
- Choice, Access, and Flexibility
- Responsiveness and Personalized Service
- Cross-Department Teamwork and Specialized Academic Guidance
- Pays for up to 6 credit hours at any Rio Salado College in any two semesters
- Pays for registration fees and any special fees connected to the class the scholarship is paying for
- Pays for an additional class in college survival skills (CPD150) for GED students who wish to have more support their first semester
- Lets you get started immediately while Transition advisors help you find out more about financial aid
- Personalized advisement at a location convenient to the student
- Start-up scholarships and information about financial aid
- Assistance with registration and orientation to college
- Orientation to Online Learning
