Rio Salado College’s teaching courses combine course content and "real world" application through required observations and interaction in K-12 classrooms.
The in-person requirements for the Music Methods course include:
- 3 hours – Observe one K-6 music classroom
- 2 hours - Teach in one K-6 music Education
Note: If you are currently teaching, you must complete the observation component of this field experience by observing another teacher. It will be important to inform your school administrator that you are completing a course that requires observation. Your administrator will have to approve your observations during school time. You must have a coworker or school administrator (must be a certified teacher) evaluate your lesson. After completing both parts of the field experience (observation and teaching), you must have the teacher you observed complete a verification form and mail it to the Field Experience Office.
