The Teacher-in Residence (TIR) program is currently accepting students/applications for the Spring 2017 semester through February 6th, 2017. Completed applications received prior to December 5th, 2016 will be held at Rio Salado College. Beginning December 5th, 2016 completed applications may be brought down to the Arizona Department of Education for issuance of the Intern certificate. For further information, contact 480-517-8140 and register for a Non-credit class EDO100-101TR. This orientation class will further explain the expectations of this program. There is no cost for this non-credit course.

Teacher-In-Residence Programs

The Teacher-In-Residence Intern Programs allow students who already hold a bachelor's degree to receive employment in a classroom while simultaneously completing their education coursework toward certification. The Post-Baccalaureate Teacher-In-Residence Programs are approved by the Arizona Department of Education.

Students must be recommended by a school district for full-time employment, have successfully passed the Arizona Educator Exam(s)(AEPA/NES) in the content for which they are employed, the Assessment Equivalency or ACCUPLACER, and provide a current IVP fingerprint card If teaching in an English Language Development (ELD) classroom, students must also successfully complete an approved Structured English Immersion workshop or course.

Rio Salado Teacher Preparation Programs are approved by the Arizona State Board of Education and Rio Salado College is a regionally accredited post-secondary institution.
