Elementary Education Grades 1-8

The Teacher-In-Residence intern program allows students who already hold a bachelor's degree to receive employment in a classroom while simultaneously completing their education coursework toward certification. All TIR students are required to participate in an Induction Program (webinars, blogs, flip camera submissions and formal evaluations).

Students in the Elementary Education program are preparing to teach grades 1-8. This program requires 38-44 credits including in-person field experiences in many of the courses as well as 8 credits of full-time student teaching. Students must verify content proficiency through the passage of a federally-approved content exam (AEPA/NES).
