In addition to academy-based partnerships, Rio Salado College also provides advanced coursework with college credit or continuing education units, in partnership with the following agencies:
Partnerships between many of the nation's major law enforcement agencies and Rio Salado College represent the opening gate for the continuing education of law enforcement officers nationwide. The skills and proficiencies taught at these academies were analyzed by Rio Salado curriculum specialists, who then built a comprehensive academic program around them.
As the eighteen courses that constitute the program are successfully completed at these academies, registered students earn a total of up to 39 semester hours of academic credit from Rio Salado College. In addition, the students who successfully complete the academy are awarded a Certificate of Completion in Law Enforcement Technology (the number of credits earned through academies in states other than Arizona is dependent upon that particular academy's curriculum).
Registered Corrections officers who successfully complete the ten courses of the corrections program at the Arizona Correctional Officer Academy, earn a total of 21 semester hours of academic credit from Rio Salado College. In addition, the students who successfully complete the academy are awarded a Certificate of Completion in Corrections Technology.
