Enroll in Rio Salado's Online Paralegal Program!
Paralegals assist attorneys with legal research, legal writing, preparation of exhibits and case management. While not authorized to provide legal advice or practice law, paralegals are an integral part of the legal community.
Rio Salado’s Paralegal program provides students with an overview of the foundations of the legal system, including legal ethics, business law and tort law. Introducing students to the fundamental legal skills of legal writing and research, this program equips students with the tools necessary to succeed in a legal setting. Moreover, the program offers career development opportunities as well as a competitive internship program. Throughout the program, students will have the ability to hone their legal skills preparing them for the professional legal setting.
One of the top benefits of the program is access to the otherwise costly WestlawNext while enrolled in research-related courses. WestlawNext is one of the industry’s leading legal research systems named “Best Of” 2012-2015 by the National Law Journal.
As part of the student’s WestlawNext subscription, students will have the valuable opportunity to complete the Westlaw certificate training program. Students can jump into the professional setting having extensive training with the industry’s leading search system.
Multiple Starts Beginning Summer 2015
The paralegal program will offer multiple Monday starts beginning summer 2015. With up to 40 start dates, new students can start taking classes on almost any Monday. Students who currently take courses at the beginning of the traditional semester, also know as Block 1 students, will also have more flexibility to start classes during the semester.
Courses will remain 8 weeks long.
Beginning summer 2016, Rio Salado will no longer offer Summer II start dates for Block 9 students. Current Block 9 students will be advised to select an earlier block when registering for Spring 2016 courses in October. For more information visit the Block Calendar page or contact an advisor.
