Perfect Passing Rate For Rio Salado Students

Rio Salado’s Dental Hygiene Pinning Ceremony will be held this Tuesday, May 22 at the Rio Conference Center. This year’s graduating class has an astonishing 100% pass rate on their National Board Exams, a feat achieved by every graduating class since the center opened.

Thirty-three students will be graduating from the rigorous 15 month program. Rio began its dental hygiene program in 1998 and had its first graduating class in 1999. This is the ninth class to graduate from the program that was ranked 9th in the nation of 254 schools by the Joint Commission on National Dental Exams and the American Dental Association Department of Testing in 2006. The accelerated program has had nearly 300 graduates since the program began in partnership with the Arizona Dental Association and Delta Dental Insurance to ease a critical workforce shortage in the field. Rio will start a new class of 36 students in February of 2008. Applications must be filed for consideration to enroll in the program by September 1.
