Block Calendar

If you plan to earn a degree or certificate at Rio Salado College, you must plan your classes to comply with the Block Calendar System. This process allowsyou to fit your classes within a 16-week schedule.

If youare enrolling into a Rio Salado College class that requires a prerequisite, and you have successfully completed courses at other regionally accredited U.S.universities/colleges or ACE evaluated programs, you must complete a prerequisite approval form. These are processed through our Advisement office.

Prior Education Verification

In order to pursue a certificate or degree from Rio Salado College (or if you planto transfer to complete a bachelor's degree), you will need to have your prior education evaluated.

Residency and Citizenship Forms

All students living in Arizona are required to comply with Lawful Presence laws bysubmitting proper documentation to the Office of Admissions. Students who wishto qualify for Maricopa County Community College District scholarships or federal financial aid must also complete a Student Declaration of Citizenship or Status Form.

Residency Classifications

For tuition purposes, students are classified as one of the following: 1)Maricopa County resident, 2) Out-of-County resident, or 3) Out-of-State resident. Residency is determined in accordance with state law (ARS §§15-1801etseq.) and regulations of the Maricopa Community Colleges Governing Board.
