Verifying Your Prerequisite

In order to verify that you've completed the pre-req requirements, we'll need a record of this on file. Depending on where you completed the pre-req, here's what you need to do:

  • Rio Salado College
  • Another Maricopa Community College
  • Other College / University

You're all set. If you completed the prerequisite requirements at Rio, you're ready to register today!

Note: Students who took the placement exam prior to February 12, 2008 and wish to register for a Math, Reading or English course for which the placement exam is required will need to call (480) 517-8540 to register.

Log into My.Maricopa.edu.
First-time users: click here.

Under Academics, choose 'Official Transcript.' You will need to send your transcript from the Maricopa Community College where you completed the prerequisite to Rio Salado. There is a 24-hour period before you will be able to register for the course requiring the pre-req.

Example: You took ENG101 at another Maricopa Community College, but you've decided to take ENG102 online at Rio to save time. In order to register, you have to transfer the course to Rio by sending us an Official Transcript. The automated system on my.maricopa.edu will allow you to do this free of charge.

Placement exams taken within the Maricopa Community College District are in our student information system - you do not need to send us these placement exam scores to register. Note: Students who took the placement exam prior to February 12, 2008 and wish to register for a Math, Reading or English course for which the placement exam is required will need to call (480) 517-8540 to register.

Mail or fax a copy of your transcript* from the college or university you previously attended. Please include a cover letter with your name, a contact number, and the course you wish to register for.
