Rio Salado Graduation Process for GED Students

If you are viewing this GED Graduation web page you have either obtained your GED diploma or anticipate doing so very soon. If so, congratulations, this is your page for information about Rio Salado College's GED Graduation.

This year's graduation theme is "The Rio Advantage: Your Passport to Success!" You have worked hard at Rio Salado College to earn your GED diploma. This accomplishment will enable you to achieve your educational and/or career goals. You made this happen for yourself. Congratulations!

How to Participate in the Graduation Ceremony
We want to invite all our program's graduates to the GED Graduation but you must notify us of your success in one of two ways after you receive your GED diploma in the mail.

  1. You can return to your GED class to share your important news with your teacher and classmates. Then your instructor will give us your name and address so we can mail you a GED Graduation letter.

  2. Please call the Adult Basic Education department at Rio Salado College at 480-517-8112 to report your success and receive your letter.

In either case, follow the guidelines in the letter and you will later receive a second, more detailed letter from us.

Special Accommodations
If you are a student needing special accommodations you will need to make arrangements by contacting the Adult Basic Education department at 480-517-8114 or sending her an email at miranda.lopez@riomail.maricopa.edu no later than April 18, 2007. An interpreter for the hearing impaired will be on stage during the ceremony.

Photographs & Graduation Videos

  • Individual photos of graduates will be taken the night of graduation before the ceremony begins.

  • DVDs of the Graduation will be available for purchase for $15.  You will receive details on this process in your second letter.


A light snack reception will be held on the outdoor patio after the ceremony.
