Proctor Criteria
Students who will take the CELSA exam in the United StatesOverview-Proctors must be from an accredited university or accredited college. There must be no conflict of interest in having your proctor administer your exams (e.g. a family member).
University/College-If the proctor is at a university or college, he/she needs to be an employee of the testing center. If there is no testing center, the proctor must work in the assessment center, library, disability center, distance-learning center or advising/counseling center.
Unacceptable Proctors-You may not have your exams proctored
- by instructors, professors, and/or department chairs.
- by any person at a K-12 school, including administrators, teachers, and/or librarians.
- at your place of employment.
- by co-workers, spouses, family members, or friends.
- by currently enrolled Rio Salado students.
Questions/Concerns-Please contact us at 1-(866) 517-8560 (toll-free) if you cannot find a suitable proctor or if you have questions about proctor eligibility. We may be able to help you locate a proctor or we may be able to grant an exception if there are special circumstances.
Students who will take the CELSA outside of the United States
Overview-Proctors must be affiliated with an educational institution, military installation or government agency. There must be no conflict of interest in having your proctor supervise the test (e.g. family member).
University/College-The proctor needs to be an employee of the testing center, assessment center, library, disability resource center, distance-learning center or advising/counseling center. If these options are not avaiable, we may also allow instructors, professors and department chairs to proctor. The proctor must have a university/college email address.
Military Base-If the proctor is at a military base; s/he must work at the Education Center. If there is not an Education Center, s/he must be a commissioned officer ranked 2LT or higher with a valid military email address.
Government Agency-We do allow embassy employees to proctor exams. The proctor must have a valid work email address. We will also consider proctors at other governmental agencies but they will be reviewed on a case by case basis.
Employment Location-An employee at your work location does not meet our requirements. In extreme cases, the request will be reviewed by the Testing Director on a case by case basis.
