The Evolve Reach (HESI) Admission Assessment Exam (A2) is a computer-based test consisting of several modules, required for students applying to the Maricopa Community Colleges District Nursing Programs.
Hours and Locations
Currently, the HESI A2 exam is given at the Tempe Testing Center, Avondale Testing Center and the Communiversity at Surprise. No appointment is needed, all testing is on a walk-in basis. A HESI A2 exam will not be started 4 hours before closing time. You must arrive with ample time to complete your test; we close promptly at our closing time.

Fees and Methods of Payment
- $37 HESI A2 fee that is paid on the day of the test.
- An additional $20 Rio Salado College administration fee for students applying to non-MCCCD schools.
The preferred method of payment for all transactions is by credit card (Visa, MasterCard, and American Express). Checks and money orders made payable to Rio Salado Community College are also acceptable. Cash is not an acceptable form of payment. Exam fees are subject to change without prior notice.
HESI A2 General Information:
- You must have a current, valid, recognizable, state or federal issued photo ID.
- The HESI A2 exam has a 4 hour time limit. All tests must be completed by the testing center's closing time.
- Calculators are not allowed. The exam provides a simple calculator on the computer. Scratch paper will be provided.

www.nursingexamprepinfo.com as well as a number of other sites. A simple online search will list several of these.
Scores
- MCCCD Nursing Programs require a minimum score of 75% in the Math, and an 85% in the English Language Composite (average) which consists of Reading Comprehension, Grammar and Vocabulary/General Knowledge. The Science modules in Biology, Chemistry, Anatomy & Physiology, and Physic will NOT be administered.
- Scores are valid for 2 years at any MCCCD Campus.
Repeating Test
- Students may re-test after a 60-day waiting period. This allows time for remediation, which will be available through your Evolve account. Up to 2 retest are permitted within one year from the date of the first test.
