Rio Salado College is accepting adjunct applications for in-person, online and print-based classes. The college staffs approximately 1,000 adjunct instructors each semester. With 40+ start dates a year, we're interested in hiring competent, caring, qualified professionals with outstanding credentials, experience in their fields and a desire to share their expertise with students.

FAQs - Teach for Rio

Hiring is based on student enrollment. If enrollment exceeds the number of instructors we have teaching, we review the applicant database and begin scheduling interview appointments.

There is no particular time of the year that is better than another for hiring. Unlike traditional colleges that usually begin in September and January of each year, Rio Salado College starts new classes most Mondays throughout the year.

Official transcripts are not required until instructors are hired. Unofficial transcripts are acceptable for your application.

If the applicant is hired to teach a class, arrangements are made to complete Rio Salado’s online orientation and departmental in-person training, when applicable. New online instructors also receive training in RioLearn, the college's online learning management system.

Rio Salado’s online courses are fully developed and include syllabus, lessons and assessments. Students and faculty access their courses and communicate with each other through RioLearn, the college's online learning portal where students take classes. Rio Salado utilizes an asynchronous distance learning model where students and faculty are not required to be online at the same time.

The current pay for adjunct faculty is $1054 per load hour.
