  • Rio Salado College: Avoiding Plagiarism This resource is designed to help students understand and avoid plagiarism, and it includes examples of plagiarized passages of source material. It also includes examples of the acceptable use of direct quotation and paraphrasing.
  • Plagiarism Learning Module This learning module from the University of Texas Libraries will help you define plagiarism and determine what sources need to be cited in your writing. It also covers how to paraphrase the words of others and how to incorporate quotations in your own writing.
  • What Constitutes Plagiarism? This resource from the Harvard College Writing Program explains and includes examples of verbatim plagiarism, mosaic plagiarism, inadequate paraphrase, uncited paraphrase and uncited quotations. 
  • Understanding and Preventing Plagiarism This resource is designed to help students understand intentional and accidental plagiarism, provides resources to help students avoid plagiarism, and includes important questions (and answers) every writing student should ask.
