A Message from President Smith about Gratitude and Keeping You Safe this Holiday Season.

As we look forward to the upcoming holidays, we are reminded of how grateful we are to support you along your educational journey—  especially now as we continue to face a confluence of health, justice, and economic challenges. We are in this together with you, now more than ever.

To that end, I am writing to communicate how we plan to proactively address the expected increase in COVID-19 cases through the holiday season while continuing to provide you with the quality service you expect from our college.

The following changes will be implemented Monday, Nov. 30, 2020 through Jan. 31, 2021

  • Most in-person services will revert to full remote services.

  • Academic Testing, Counseling and Library curbside pickup will be available 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays. Appointments will be needed for Academic Testing and Counseling. These will be the only in-person services available at the Tempe campus. All other departments will be accessible through remote services.

These plans are subject to change, depending on health and safety protocols. For the most up-to-date information about service hours, please visit this Special Hours website or visit riosalado.edu.

Finally, I would like to remind you to please practice positive self-care. You can find a variety of resources and helpful information on the Maricopa Community Colleges’ TOGETHER website. Please, do not hesitate to call on our Counseling team if you are struggling with challenges that are interfering with your studies or need assistance with managing the range of feelings and emotions you may be experiencing.

In this time of uncertainty, I want you to know how proud I am of you and your persistence. Your resilience serves as a great source of inspiration and I look forward to hearing more about your successes. In the meantime, please accept my well wishes for a blessed Thanksgiving and holiday season.

Sincerely,

Kate Smith
Rio Salado College
Interim President
