Where are They Now Alumni Profile – Dallin Kimble
In 2011, Dallin Kimble took advantage of Rio Salado College’s corporate and government partnerships to earn a certificate in Utility Customer Service.
Rio Salado provides access to training and career-path programs for local employers who benefit from a skilled workforce. Employees in our partnership programs obtain vital career skills and knowledge needed to succeed in today’s competitive environment.
At the time, Kimble was employed at Salt River Project (SRP), a utility company that had a customer service certificate program partnership with Rio Salado.
“It was great to be getting paid to learn my new job and get credit through Rio Salado,” said Kimble. He used the certificate and job experience as a springboard to a new career.
“The training I received through Rio allowed me to get valuable experience working for a utility while I pursued my graduate degree in public administration,” Kimble said.
Today, Kimble is the chief administrator for Mariposa County– the home of Yosemite National Park in central California. As county administrator, Kimble is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the county, including budgets, strategy, technical services, economic development, and community and stakeholder relations.
“When I made the transition to working for cities and counties, I was able to show education and experience in something that was important to prospective employers,” Kimble said.
His favorite part of his job is spending time helping people in his local community. “There aren’t many things better than that,” he said.
Kimble is grateful that Rio Salado was able to help him reach his career goals.
“Education opens the door to opportunity,” he said. “A degree or certificate from Rio can be a step toward a better job, more education, personal enrichment, or all of the above.”
