Clinical Practices
Rio Salado's Educator Preparation Program actively seeks to combine course content with "real world" application through required school observations and interactions in preK-12 classrooms.  Clinical Practices are embedded throughout the program through field experiences and student teaching. Â
Field experiences
Field experiences are a critical component of the Educator Preparation Program. These experiences require teacher candidates to complete observation, participation, and whole class teaching requirements.
Student Teaching
Student Teaching is a minimum of a 12-week, full-time experience in a K-12 setting for our traditional post baccalaureate program. Within the Teacher in Residence Program, Â teacher candidates complete a minimum of 1-year student teaching in a K-12 setting.Â
