Join Rio Salado College for a special Constitution Day presentation featuring The Honorable G. Murray Snow, senior U.S. district judge for the District of Arizona.
In “Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness: The Continued Relevance of the Declaration of Independence,” Judge Snow will explore the history, ideas and debates behind one of the most influential documents in American history—and why its principles still matter today.
During this interactive presentation, attendees will learn:
- How the Declaration of Independence came to be written
- What its authors hoped to accomplish
- Lesser-known stories and facts from the founding era
- How the Declaration’s principles continue to shape American life today
Judge Snow was appointed to the federal bench in 2008 and previously served on the Arizona Court of Appeals. He served as chief judge of the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona from 2018–2024 and presided over the landmark Melendres v. Arpaio litigation involving former Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio and the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.
