Join us for a special Juneteenth poetry event honoring freedom, resilience, culture and community through poetry, storytelling and reflection.
Participants are invited to:
- Write and share their own original poetry inspired by Juneteenth themes
- Reflect on topics such as freedom, joy, resistance, identity, healing, hope, legacy, and community
- Bring a favorite poem, spoken word piece, or quote to share and discuss with others
The event will feature poets Janine McGhee and Minikah Yve-Louise.
Whether you would like to perform, listen, reflect or simply connect in community, all are welcome. No prior poetry experience is needed. Bring your voice, your story and your willingness to engage in meaningful conversation and celebration.
