Emergency Food Relief Services to Help Students in Need, New Cooking Demo Videos

Struggling with Hunger? We Can Help You Now! Café at Rio chef preparing recipe Feeding Children Everywhere CEO Rick Whitted

We have seen a sharp increase in food insecurity, which is why we are partnering with nonprofit organizations like Feeding Children Everywhere and Full Cart to help Rio Salado students who are struggling with economic hardships and hunger— wherever they may be.

If you are a Rio Salado student in need, please contact our counselors for immediate assistance with emergency relief services by calling (480) 517-8785 or visit this counseling web page.

Successful students ask for help. This is a difficult time. Please, do not go it alone and do not hesitate to call on our counselors if you need help overcoming challenges interfering with your academic performance.

Our Sustainable Food and Café at Rio chefs are joining us in this effort by sharing recipes using ingredients from Feeding Children Everywhere and other low-cost items that are often available. Here are two new YouTube videos they took part in, which provide ingredients and instructions on how to prepare: Southwest Chicken Noodle Soup and Potato Flatbread. A special thank you to KJZZ 91.5 Reporter and Host Mark Brodie for his help narrating these videos.

To date, Rio Salado College and Feeding Children Everywhere have delivered more than 16,000 servings of food to students in need across the United States.
