The webinars are free to attend. After registering, you will receive the webinar Zoom link.

  • 10 a.m. - From Idea to Revenue: Launch Your Business in 90 Days. In this session you will learn about the 4-step process for quickly launching your small business and making your first sale. Click to register.

  • 1 p.m. - Reflections of Rio Entrepreneurship Book Club. Learn how to apply lessons from the book “Re-Understanding Entrepreneurship: What it is and Why it Matters,” by Weiying Zhang, in today's entrepreneurial climate. Click to register.

  • 5 p.m. - From Pitch to Profit: How Our Entrepreneur of the Year Used Her Small Business Pitch Winnings to Build Success. Attend an informative Q&A session with Rio Salado College’s student entrepreneur of the year Shaniqua Hopkins. Click to register.

The third session is presented by Hopkins, a single mother, entrepreneur, Rio Salado student, and recent recipient of the college’s inaugural Entrepreneur of the Year award.

Hopkins is successfully running her nonprofit organization, 7th Dream Helping Hearts, which is dedicated to assisting pregnant and parenting at-risk teens.

Webinar participants can learn how Hopkins entered Rio Salado’s 2024 Small Business Pitch competition (in partnership with the National Association for Community College Entrepreneurship), and used her first-place award earnings to grow her nonprofit.

“I founded 7th Dream Helping Hearts because life in foster care is not fair for a child who never asked to be there,” Hopkins said. “Becoming a mother at 15, it was the kindness of my community that helped me change my life. I promised myself I would one day provide that same support for others.”
