Rio Salado President Kate Smith recently joined a podcast conversation with Forsyth Tech President Janet Spriggs and the Presidents Forum to discuss the Education Design Lab’s Reimagining Community College initiative. Rio Salado and Forsyth Tech are two of the five community colleges across the country taking part.
The podcast explores how community colleges are redesigning education for today’s majority learners: working adults, parents, and career changers.
The presidents discussed stackable pathways, employer-designed programs, durable skills, AI readiness, and the need for institutions to “work at the speed of innovation.” Together, they brought hope to build a better understanding of where higher education is headed and the impact colleges can have on students, employers, and communities.
