Are you interested in exploring your career options? Thinking about moving on to a new position? Change can be scary, but it’s often worth the effort. As the saying goes: “No risk, no reward.” While the job market can be unpredictable, one thing you can control is your professional toolbox. What skills do you have in there that can help you in your job hunt? What knowledge do you need to acquire to stay competitive? Rio Salado is here to help you find answers to those questions.
This September, we’re relaunching our “4 Steps to a Meaningful New Career” workshop series. These virtual workshops are designed to offer you practical knowledge and tips on how to develop your job hunting skills. Over the course of four sessions, our Career Services department will teach you how to build and hone a personal brand that can help you stand out; craft effective resumes and cover letters that will make a lasting impression; impart winning job search strategies; and give you the savoir-faire to present as a confident and authentic professional at job interviews.
While each workshop can be taken on its own, it's recommended to attend the first session if you're interested in this series. The skills you'll learn from each workshop will synergize with each other and give you a well-rounded suite of skills to put into practice during your next job search.
Workshops will be live on Tuesdays in September from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. AZ time. Our career workshops are free to attend and open to all. Those who register in advance will receive reminder emails and access to the workshop recordings.
The schedule for the 4 Steps workshops is as follows:
-
Personal Branding — Sept. 9
-
Job Searching Strategies — Sept. 16
-
Resumes and Cover Letters — Sept. 23
-
Interview with Confidence — Sept. 30
