Braille books donated to the Rio Salado Library
Inaugural Hall of Fame Ceremony
Phi Theta Kappa Induction Ceremony
What a remarkable year it’s been for Rio Salado College’s Phi Theta Kappa chapter!
This school year, PTK students made a meaningful impact through leadership, service, and innovation. They expanded accessibility by donating seven Braille books to the Rio Salado Library— each one translated from episodes of the PTK Pulse podcast (Seasons 1 and 2). The podcast dives into powerful topics like accessibility, identity, culture, personal journeys, and inclusion, and now those conversations are available in multiple formats to reach even more people across the Maricopa County Community College District.
In September, Rio Salado also had the honor of co-hosting the Regional Honors in Action Conference, bringing together PTK students and leaders for a day of learning, collaboration, and inspiration.
Students also played a key role in launching Rio Salado’s inaugural Alumni Hall of Fame, recognizing outstanding graduates whose achievements reflect excellence in leadership, career success, and community service. This new tradition highlights the power of education and encourages future students to see what they are capable of.
Their hard work didn’t go unnoticed. At the 2026 PTK Regional Convention, Rio Salado PTK earned multiple awards, including the College Project Award, Honors in Action Project Award, and Distinguished Chapter Award, along with several individual honors for students and advisors. Members also represented Rio Salado at PTK Catalyst, the international convention, where they connected with scholars and leaders from around the world.
To close out the year, PTK celebrated its Induction Ceremony on April 23, welcoming 37 new members and 3 new officers— with more still to come!
From expanding access to celebrating achievement, Rio Salado PTK continues to show what’s possible when students lead with purpose.
