Paralegal Associations

As a paralegal student, here are a few associations available at low to no cost. Associations are a great opportunity to network with professionals and learn more about the industry.

Arizona Paralegal Association (APA)

The Arizona Paralegal Association (APA) is the largest paralegal association in Arizona. The APA was formed in 1977 to promote the professional development of paralegals, and to provide continuing legal education programs, seminars and monthly lunch time online webinars for its members.

Maricopa County Bar Association (MCBA)

Since its founding in 1914, the Maricopa County Bar Association has been the largest voluntary bar association in Arizona. The Paralegal division offers opportunities for scholarships, professional development, and network opportunities.

National Federation of Paralegal Associations (NFPA)

Founded in 1974, NFPA was the first national paralegal association. Created as a non-profit federation, NFPA is an issues-driven, policy-oriented professional association directed by its membership.

National Association of Legal Assistants (NALA)

Since 1975, NALA has been trusted to provide exceptional continuing education and professional development designed specifically to advance paralegals and other legal professionals in their careers. NALA connects members with their peers across the nation and opens doors of knowledge and opportunity.

Women in eDiscovery (WiE)

A nonprofit organization focused on providing women with legal technology education, networking and leadership opportunities.

Arizona Association of Independent Paralegals (AAIP)

The AAIP is the largest voluntary professional association of Arizona Certified Legal Document Preparers (CLDPs). The AAIP provides continuing education, information about Certified Legal Document Preparers in Arizona, programs to assist CLDPs, and initiatives to improve the legal system for the public.

American Bar Association (ABA)

Founded in 1878, the ABA serves its members, the legal profession, and the public by "defending liberty and delivering justice as the national representative of the legal profession."

NALS of Phoenix

A non-profit 501(c)(6) professional legal support association dedicated to enhancing the education of its members and the legal community.
