College Accreditation

Rio Salado College is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC). The HLC is an independent corporation that was founded in 1895 as one of six regional institutional accreditors in the United States. HLC accredits degree-granting post-secondary educational institutions in the United States. Rio Salado College received a 10-year reaffirmation of accreditation through the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) in Spring 2022. 

Year 4 Assurance Review

Rio Salado College’s Assurance Argument was submitted to the Higher Learning Commission in February 2026, in fulfillment of the mid-cycle Year 4 Assurance Review requirement for institutions on the Open Pathway. On March 13, 2026, Rio Salado College received the Peer Team Report and notification that it had successfully completed the Open Pathway Assurance Review with no recommended monitoring.

Specialized Accreditation by Program

In addition to institutional accreditation, certain educational programs may have additional accreditation that is granted by a specialized accrediting agency.
