College Accreditation

Rio Salado College is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC). The HLC is an independent corporation that was founded in 1895 as one of six regional institutional accreditors in the United States. HLC accredits degree-granting post-secondary educational institutions in the United States. Rio Salado College received a 10-year reaffirmation of accreditation through the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) in Spring 2022.

Comprehensive Evaluation for Reaffirmation

The Rio Salado College Year 10 Assurance Argument for Reaffirmation of Accreditation was submitted to the Higher Learning Commission in January 2022, in fulfillment of the ten-year Comprehensive Evaluation for Reaffirmation requirement for institutions on the Open Pathway. The HLC Peer Team issued a Reaffirmation Review Report, which was accepted by the Institutional Actions Council.

Specialized Accreditation by Program

In addition to institutional accreditation, certain educational programs may have additional accreditation that is granted by a specialized accrediting agency.
