Clery Act Information

The Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (20 USC § 1092(f)), originally the "Campus Security Act," is the landmark federal law requiring colleges and universities in the U.S. to disclose information about crime on and around their campuses. Institutions are mandated to publish an annual report disclosing campus security policies and three years' worth of selected crime statistics.

They are additionally mandated to make timely warnings to the campus community about crimes posing an ongoing threat to students and employees. Each institution with a police or security department must have a public crime log.

The U.S. Department of Education (ED) collects and disseminates these crime statistics. Sexual assault victims in the campus community are assured certain basic rights.

In compliance with the federal Stop Campus Hazing Act, which amends the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act), Rio Salado College publishes a Campus Hazing Transparency Report summarizing findings of responsibility for hazing violations involving student organizations that are recognized by or affiliated with the College.

For the current reporting period, there were no findings of responsibility for hazing violations involving student organizations. Accordingly, no Campus Hazing Transparency Report has been published.

This page will be reviewed and a report published at least twice annually, or as otherwise required by federal law if findings of responsibility for hazing violations occur.
