Rio Salado College offers classes that are geared to helping you be successful in your educational journey and preparing for your future career success. These classes provide tips to help you:

Introduction to Counseling Provides an introduction to and broad overview of the field of counseling. Covers counseling topics related to ethics, prevention, intervention and treatment, as well as multicultural counseling. Prerequisites: None. |

The Counselor in a Multicultural Society Covers current theories and research on culture, race and ethnicity, gender and other specific aspects of cultural diversity in a multicultural society. Explores themes, theories, topics and research related to power, privilege and oppression in the United States as applied in the counseling discipline. - Beginning in the Fall 2022 semester, all new students will be required to take a First Year Experience (FYE) course. These courses are a degree requirement for Maricopa Community Colleges students who are beginning any degree or transfer program.
