Additional Scholarship Opportunities

The following scholarships are offered to continuing students. Students must be in good standing with the Honors Program.

Chancellor's Scholarship

This scholarship covers tuition and fees for one full year, up to 18 credits per semester of in County tuition, plus $250.00 per semester for books and supplies. Honors Achievement Award students and Presidents' Honors Scholars who are now in the fourth and final semester of the Presidents' Honors Scholarship are eligible to apply. One scholarship is awarded at each Maricopa County Community College Campus annually. The application is due February 24, 2023. Scholarship Recipients will be notified in early March.

Eligibility

Students must meet the following criteria, in addition to lawful presence and in-county residency:

  • Current Honors Achievement Award student
  • Cumulative MCCCD GPA of 3.25 or higher
  • Plan to enroll full-time during the upcoming fall and spring semesters

Upon Acceptance

If you are awarded the Chancellor's Scholarship, the following is required both semesters:

  • Successfully complete the HONORS100-00PHS non-credit course
  • Full-time enrollment for the duration of the scholarship and a maintained MCCCD cumulative 3.25 or higher GPA
  • Successful completion of at least 12 credit hours each semester, including at least one 3-credit Honors course
  • Completion of two co-curricular activities and remain in good standing with Rio Salado

Foundation Scholarship

This scholarship is up to $1000 for the academic year (in addition to the Honors Achievement Award). Students must qualify for the Honors Achievement Award and be enrolled at least 6 credit hours per semester for the upcoming academic year. International Students are eligible to apply. Honors Achievement Award students and Presidents' Honors Scholars who are now in the fourth and final semester of the Presidents' Honors Scholarship are eligible to apply. The application is due February 24, 2023. Scholarship Recipients will be notified by early March.

Jo C. Bennett Student Assistance Fund

The Jo C. Bennett Student Assistance Fund is for Rio Salado College students needing immediate financial support to prevent situations that may cause the student to drop out of college. Students must complete an application with the RSC Counseling Department, be enrolled in a minimum of 3 credit hours, or be taking ASE, ABE, and ELAA classes.
