Work with a professional chef to create 2 types of tamales. Students will learn to make red chile chicken and green chile pork tamales. This is a hands-on cooking class where you will listen and watch our chef demo the do’s and don’ts of making tamales while also making your own tamales. Students will then eat tamales for lunch and take some home.
Rio Salado culinary workshops are designed for the beginner and are fun and low pressure. Workshops are hands on and participants will be standing for the majority of the workshop. Workshops are generally made up of 12-16 students and we work in teams of 2. We want the group to work safe, learn new techniques and recipes to their culinary repertoire and most importantly, HAVE FUN! Proper kitchen attire is required which includes: closed toe shoes, long pant and long or short sleeve shirt. Please restrain hair while in the kitchen.
